Who we build for
Regional dailies and site networks
One foundation for every domain, with each site having its own logo, towns and sections.
Specialist and community news
Industry portals, magazines and newsletters for towns, municipalities and associations.
Publishers moving from an old website
Outdated Joomla, WordPress or a bespoke system, without losing URLs, content or search rankings.
Newsrooms without their own IT
A website that is easy to run, even from a phone, and that nobody can break by accident.
What a turnkey website means
A news website is more than its look. It is a structure of sections and URLs, integration with advertising and cookie consent, server configuration, data for search engines, editor permissions and dozens of small details that determine traffic and revenue.
| Area | What we do for you |
|---|---|
| Strategy and structure | Sections, towns, menus, URLs, "Published today" pages, tags, archive |
| Design | Layout of the homepage, sections, articles, tags, search and the 404 page, using your real content |
| Development | Template, custom modules, Joomla core modifications, all as a single installation package |
| Migration from your old site | Content transfer, URL preservation, redirects, indexing checks |
| Advertising and revenue | Ad positions, Google Ad Manager, Seznam SSP, branding, sponsored articles |
| Consent and privacy | Consent banner compliant with IAB TCF 2.2, analytics and ads only after consent |
| Technical SEO | Speed, structured data, sitemap, Open Graph, llms.txt for AI |
| Server and operations | Compression, caching, file expiry, time zone, backups, updates |
| Newsroom | Role-based permissions, training, step-by-step guide |
| Maintenance and development | Joomla updates, security, new features as the newsroom needs them |
What the website can do
The look of a modern daily
A homepage with a full-width lead story, a "Today in 60 seconds" summary with audio playback and section blocks in different layouts: cards, a dark panel, videos, events, people and readers' photos.
Light and dark mode, a search window (Ctrl + K), a bottom bar on mobile and mobile-friendly pagination. Articles have a standfirst, an "In brief" box, reading time, audio playback, text resizing and sharing.
- Smart sections without repetition. An article currently at the top among the main stories is not repeated in its section block, and the block fills itself with the next one. Once newer stories push it out, it returns to its section.
- Videos from across the site. An editor writes "VIDEO:" in the headline and the article automatically appears in the video row on the homepage, whatever its section.
- Stories like on Instagram, created automatically from the latest articles.
- "Published today" pages for the whole region and for each town, with a town switcher.
- Relative time on articles ("25 min ago", "3 h ago"), updated automatically.
- Tags styled like sections and a 404 page that does not lose the reader: search pre-filled from the broken URL, similar articles, the latest news and sections.

Safe embedding of videos and posts
Editors insert a link to YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Spotify or SoundCloud with one button in the editor. The website builds its own player from the link and does not insert third-party code. In line with their rules, Instagram and X load only after the reader clicks. The button is visible only to those allowed to write articles, based on standard Joomla permissions.
Live regional data
Weather, air quality from the nearest station of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), traffic reports by district, sports results and news from partner sites. The server fetches the data into a cache, so neither readers nor search engines wait for third-party services.
Advertising that earns without getting in the way
More than twenty fixed positions: below the menu, next to the lead story, between sections, in section listings, within the article text and below it. Formats range from boxes and banners through anchor ads and interscrollers on mobile to branding (a wallpaper around the site).
Google Ad Manager, Seznam SSP and your own banners, labelled sponsored articles and advertising messages. Every position has reserved space, so ads do not push the text around or hurt your Google scores.

Technical SEO from day one
News lives on search: Google, Google News, the Czech search engine Seznam and, increasingly, AI assistants. That is why we do not bolt SEO on later with plugins. We build it into the whole website.
Speed (Core Web Vitals)
The main image loads first, fonts are hosted locally and the template has only a few kilobytes of its own JavaScript, with no libraries. The reference site's homepage weighs 0.3 MB with 16 requests, roughly a fifth of a comparable national daily.
Images in WebP
Newsroom photos are automatically converted into several sizes, and the browser receives the right one for its display. The originals are kept.
Structured data without conflicts
A single source for the article, breadcrumb navigation and publisher. The common "two articles on one page" error does not happen with us.
Sharing and AI search engines
Open Graph with the logo and article image, correct canonical URLs, RSS with exact publication times. An llms.txt file describing the site, its sections and the rules for citing the source.
Valid HTML and accessibility
Contrast to WCAG 2.1 AA, keyboard navigation, landmarks for screen readers. We check every release with automated tests.
Migration without losing rankings
We keep article and section URLs, and we monitor and redirect old links for weeks after launch.
Security is fundamental, not an add-on
Before every release we check the code, HTML, accessibility and features on a copy of the website.
- Website blocks have no HTML editor. They are controlled with fields and switches, and everything is validated and escaped.
- Embedded posts without third-party code, links of safe types only, images only from the site's own media.
- Data is fetched from the network only from approved servers, with protection against abuse (SSRF) and limits on size and time.
- Editor permissions follow the standard Joomla ACL. A registered reader has no access to anything that is not theirs.
- Advertising and analytics load only after the reader's consent.
A network of sites: one foundation, many domains
For publishers covering several regions, we build websites as a network. Each site has its own domain, logo, towns, sections and advertising, but they share the same foundation. We develop a new feature or fix once and deploy it to every site in the network. Each additional site is faster and cheaper than the first.
How we work together
- 01 Free initial consultation
We discuss what the website needs to do, how many domains you manage, how your newsroom works and where the site's revenue comes from.
- 02 Analysis and SEO audit
We measure speed, indexing, structured data, broken URLs, advertising and cookie consent. You receive a clear overview of what works and what is holding you back.
- 03 Design
You approve the homepage, sections, articles and the mobile version using your real content, not a static image.
- 04 Development
The website is built as a single whole: template, modules and settings that deploy in one step and can be updated just as easily. We develop everything on a copy of your website, so your live site is unaffected during development.
- 05 Migration and launch
We transfer the content, preserve URLs and set up advertising, cookie consent, the server and search engines. We launch without downtime and with the option of an immediate rollback.
- 06 Newsroom training
We show you how to mark the lead story, embed a video or add a town and section. You receive a step-by-step guide.
- 07 Care after launch
For the first few weeks we monitor broken URLs, indexing and speed. After that we keep the website up to date and develop it as the newsroom needs.
References
E-deníky
For e-Mostecko.cz we built a complete news website: structure, design, advertising system, live data, safe embedding of posts and technical SEO.
We moved the second site in the network, e-Karlovarsko.cz, onto the new foundation, keeping all URLs and adding new sections for Karlovy Vary, Cheb and Sokolov. Further regions are following step by step using the same process.

Frequently asked questions
Do you only make templates, or complete websites?
Complete websites. The template is only one part. We design the structure of sections and URLs, build the design and features, migrate content from your old site, set up advertising, cookie consent, the server and search engines, train the newsroom and continue to maintain the website.
How much does a news website on Joomla cost?
It depends on the scope: the number of domains, sections, layouts and ad positions, and whether we migrate content from an old site. After the initial consultation and audit you receive a fixed price. In a network, each additional site is significantly cheaper than the first.
How long does launch take?
It depends on the size of the website, the amount of content to migrate and how quickly we receive materials. The first site in a network, with archive migration, an advertising system and live data integration, is a project of a few months. A smaller news website without migration is a matter of weeks. Each additional site in the network is built on the finished foundation, so nothing is developed again: we set up the region, sections and advertising and migrate the content, which takes weeks depending on the volume of data. We set the timeline in our proposal after the initial consultation and audit.
Why Joomla rather than WordPress?
Without extra plugins, Joomla has built-in categories and subcategories, role-based permissions, tags, multilingual support and user management. That is what a publisher needs. Fewer plugins mean fewer updates, fewer security holes and a faster website. We build on Joomla 6+.
Will we lose search rankings during migration?
No, not if the migration is done properly, and that is our job. We keep article and section URLs, verify structured data before launch, monitor and redirect old links after launch and track indexing in Google Search Console.
Will you migrate content from our old website?
Yes. Articles, categories, images, authors and tags. Migration from another Joomla site is the simplest; from WordPress or a bespoke system we prepare it based on the data structure.
Can we manage the website ourselves?
Yes. The newsroom writes articles (on mobile, desktop or via the app) and everything else is controlled with fields and switches in the administration, with no programming. We train you and you receive a guide. You can leave technical maintenance (updates, security, backups) to us.
Does Google advertising comply with EU rules?
Yes. Cookie consent runs on the IAB TCF 2.2 standard, which Google requires for advertising in the EU. Advertising and traffic analytics load only after the reader's consent.
Can we embed videos and social media posts in articles?
Yes, with one button in the editor: YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, Spotify and SoundCloud. Embedding is safe, because the website does not insert third-party code from the link, and Instagram and X load only after a click.
How is the website prepared for AI search engines?
It has an llms.txt file describing the site, its sections and citation rules, clean HTML, correct structured data and RSS. This makes it easier for AI assistants to understand the site and cite it correctly as a source.
What if we have several regions or domains?
We build a network of sites on a shared foundation. Each site has its own domain, logo, towns and sections, but features, fixes and security are developed once for all of them.
Where will the website run?
On your hosting, or we will help you choose a suitable one. You need PHP 8.4 or later and a MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL database. We configure the server: compression, caching, file expiry and time zone.
What happens after launch?
For the first few weeks we monitor broken URLs, indexing and speed. After that we keep the website up to date with new Joomla versions, fix issues and add features as the newsroom needs them.
