Subsidised Training Courses: Invest in Your Future

How Czech subsidised retraining and digital skills courses work: up to CZK 50,000 per person, deadlines in 2025, co-payments and how to apply.

Adults attending a training course on digital skills

The labour market is constantly changing and bringing new demands. If you want to become more competitive, broaden your knowledge or prepare for a new career path, now is the ideal time to start learning. Thanks to the subsidised courses available in the Czech Republic, you have a unique opportunity to improve your skills on very favourable terms.

Retraining with financial support

Retraining courses are suitable for anyone who wants to change fields or extend their qualifications. Under the Czech National Recovery Plan you can claim a contribution towards retraining courses that are completed no later than 31 October 2025. Applications can still be submitted, including under projects financed from the Operational Programme Employment Plus (OPZ+).

Digital skills courses with support until the end of 2025

Rapid digitalisation is transforming the way we work and live. To help people keep pace with technological developments, the state also offers support for digital education. Digital skills courses financed from the National Recovery Plan must be completed no later than 31 December 2025.

How much can you get and how does it work?

Thanks to funding from the EU and the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MPSV), hundreds of millions of crowns are available for education. Every applicant is entitled to support of up to CZK 50,000 (around €2,000) for retraining and a further CZK 50,000 (around €2,000) for digital skills courses, over a period of three years. The courses can be taken one after another. You can enrol in the next course only after completing the previous one.

  • For retraining courses: the Labour Office can cover the full price of the course.
  • For digital courses: the participant pays a mandatory co-payment of 18% of the course price.

If a participant fails the final exam (including the retake, if the course offers one), they pay the full price of the course themselves. It is also important to cancel your registration in good time if you cannot attend, ideally as soon as possible and no later than the day before the course starts, otherwise the course provider may charge you for lost income.

How to apply

You can easily search for courses online on the website of the Czech Labour Office (Úřad práce):

The "Jsem v kurzu" programme (roughly "I'm up to speed") supports the development of IT skills across the whole population. It does not matter whether you work in an office, run a business, study, are looking for a job or are caring for children. This subsidy programme is open to everyone who wants to strengthen their technical knowledge and prepare better for the future.
